Mike Simpson's Spending Record
Mike Simpson voted "yes" on every bill below.
Not all of these bills became laws, and many of them are iterations of the same bill, under different circumstances. Hence, these dollar amounts cannot be added together; in many cases, they refer to the same spending. There's a lot of overlap.
Still, each of these votes contributed, either directly or in spirit, to our ever-growing national debt over the 26-year period in which Mike Simpson has been a member of Congress.
To his credit, he's voted "no" on a number of spending bills, as well. But the fact that he voted "yes" on each of the following bills shows a pattern of big spending which clearly parallels the growth of our national debt.
When Mike Simpson's congressional career began in 1999, our debt was less than $6 trillion. Today, it exceeds $38 trillion. It's time for Idaho's voters to elect someone who will vote to reverse this dangerous trend.
It's time to vote for Perry Shumway.
