Why vote for Perry Shumway?

Perry Shumway wants to be your congressman.

He's committed to term limits, he will never vote "yes" on any bill that increases the national debt, and he will hold four in-person town hall meetings - in Idaho - every year.

Perry Shumway has a vast amount of experience - sixty years, no less - though none of it is actually political experience, per se. He views life experience as being at least as applicable as political experience, when it comes to representation in Congress.

The father of nine amazing children, Perry makes his home in Rexburg, along with his wife and their cat, and their youngest son, Henry, who is a senior at Madison High School.

Perry doesn't want to make Congress a career. In fact, he's committed to self-imposed term limits (12 years, at most), after which he will gladly pass the torch along to the next qualified candidate.

Perry's signature issue - the single thing that matters most to him, in terms of congressional action - is reducing the national debt by cutting federal spending. This issue has always been the hallmark of true conservatism. And though it seems to be less and less popular as time goes on, Perry knows that there's nothing he can do in Congress that will have a greater, more lasting impact.

Perry is not afraid to hold in-person town hall meetings with constituents throughout Idaho's 2nd Congressional District. He knows not everyone will agree with him on everything, and he's ok with that. He welcomes divergent points of view, and realizes that he doesn't have all the answers.

Amazingly, Mike Simpson has never lost an election. In fact, it's been decades since he's even had close competition. Is this because he's doing such an outstanding job in Congress? Or is it instead a reflection of voter fatigue, or voter apathy? Whatever it is, Mike Simpson needs to be stopped.

Attention all Idaho Republicans: 2026 will be a non-presidential election year. Voter turnout at the polls will likely be very light. No matter what anyone else says or does, please mark your calendars now, and be sure to turn out on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, to vote for Perry Shumway.

Let's show the nation that Idaho is truly a red state, in every respect.
