Legal Disclaimer for Contributions

 

Contributions to Shumway for Congress are subject to the following terms:

​

  1. Eligibility Requirements
    By making a contribution, you affirm that:

    • You are a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (green card holder).

    • This contribution is made from your own funds, and not from the funds of another person or entity.

    • You are not making this contribution on behalf of any corporation, labor organization, national bank, federal contractor, or foreign national.

    • You are at least 18 years old.

  2. Contribution Limits

  3. Federal law allows individuals to contribute up to $3,300 per election (primary and general are separate elections), for a total of $6,600. Contributions from qualified federal PACs are subject to FEC limits.

  4. Reporting Requirements
    Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and employer of each individual who contributes more than $200 in an election cycle.

  5. Tax Status
    Contributions are not tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes.

  6. Use of Funds
    Contributions will be used in connection with federal elections and are subject to federal election law.

  7. Refund Policy
    All contributions are final. If a contribution is determined to be unlawful, it will be refunded in compliance with Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations.

The maximum amount an individual may contribute is $3,500 per primary election and $3,500 per general election for a total of $7,000.

Your contribution (up to $3,500) will be designated for the primary election. The next $3,500 will be designated for the general election.

​

Contributions to Shumway for Congress are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes.

 

Contributions from corporations, labor unions, federal contractors, and foreign nationals are prohibited.
